It’s scary stuff. You’re qualified yes, in theory, but are you ready?
I worked casually for two years while studying to be an Early Childhood Teacher. One would imagine they knew what they were doing by the time they graduated and secured a permanent spot. Oh boy.
If anything, I would say becoming a new teacher humbles you. There is an overwhelming sense of how much there is to do, and how ‘qualified’ means not just the degree, but the experience. It reminds you that the other educators are more knowledgeable and have more expertise in handling the most trickiest situations, while all you really learned was the many different ways of documenting observations!
Once you get past that stage and start building relationships with everyone, is when things start falling into place. We will get there. All in good time.
